Acadèmia 1750 (Academy 1750), born from the musical recovery project “La Principessa filosofa” (“The Philosopher Princess”) (the title of a lost opera by Carles Baguer) in 2009, the group has become one of the best orchestras with historical criteria in our country and displays particular interest in the recovery of our musical heritage of the late XVIII and early XIX centuries. Throughout its short existence, Acadèmia 1750 has tackled important projects under the baton of renowned conductors in Europe such as Ottavio Dantone, Paul Goodwind, Enrico Onofri and Alfredo Bernardini… The group recorded its first CD with the music of Antonio Vivaldi and the Juditha Triumphans’ oratorio and dedicated its second album to the symphonies of Carles Baguer, edited by Columna Música. In 2009, the group took part in the Venice Biennale, performing the Vivaldi oratory in the church where the composer was baptized.
