Capilla Renacentista “Michael Navarrus” (Coral de Cámara de Navarra)Publicado: 7 enero, 2011
Repertoire: Spanish Renaissance and Early Baroque
The name of Capilla Renacentista “Michael Navarrus” pays homage to the prominent composer and late-Renaissance Choirmaster of Pamplona, Michael or Miguel Navarrus. This group, created out of the Navarra Chamber Chorale, seeks to research the performance practice and precise vocal technique of the period in particular, in order to reproduce the musical creation of the masters of the Iberian and Latin American Renaissance.
The group’s artistic director, David Guindano Igarreta, specializes in this repertoire, it being the principal theme of his research as a musicologist and historian of the historical evolution of Western vocal technique.
In its short existence, the CRMN has performed in the Cathedral of Pamplona, Teatro Gaztambide in Tudela and the Teatro Español in Madrid, among other stages and events.
