EloqventiaPublicado: 13 enero, 2011
The ensemble Eloqventia takes its name from De Vulgari Eloqventia, the work by Dante Alighieri written at the beginning of the 14th Century. The group presents an innovative focus on lyric monody and the Medieval instrumental repertoire. Their performances are the result of exhaustive musicological research.
The group’s objective is to transform the simple melodic lines that have been passed down to us in the medieval codices into moving songs and vibrant dances that are capable of evoking the far distant past in which they were composed.
The group’s Director is Alejandro Villar and it is based in the city of Gijon, Asturias.
