Eduardo Paniagua was recognized as Best Classical Music Performer in 2009 by the Spanish Music Academy, and nominated to the 2010 and 2011 UFI (Independent Phonographic Union) Classical Music Awards.
Born in Madrid in 1952, an architect and specialist in Spanish medieval music, at the age of 16 he recorded four of the twenty discs of Atrium Musicae. Founder of the groups Calamus and Hoquetus, he specializes in the music of Moorish Al-Andalus. In 1994 he created the groups Musica Antigua and Ibn Baya to perform the Canticles of Alfonso X and Andalusian music.
He has also founded the Pneuma record label and, recently, the Foundation for Early Music. He has received excellent reviews and international awards for his work and for the promotion of this unknown music.
