Repertoire: Baroque and Classical
Formed in 2008 by professional musicians with a lot of expertise in the field of historicist performance, Ímpetus was created to perform music from the baroque and classical periods.
One of the fundamental principles of the group is to reproduce the music as closely as possible to the conventions of its time. That is why the group always uses original instruments or replicas of old instruments, as well as musical materials (edited scores, manuscripts) as close to the composer as possible.
All this results in a performance that is significantly different from the norm. By using ancient musical instruments and following past practices, the result is closer to what the composer was looking for in his time.
The number of musicians varies depending on the needs of the repertoire: from a small group of 6 people to a chamber orchestra of about 20 members.
