Repertoire: Renaissance, Baroque and Pre-classicism
Founded in 2009, the group took its name in honour of the popular melody of the same name that was widely played across Europe between the XV and XVII centuries.
Depending on the kind of music to be performed, La Spagna adopts a different format, from a small chamber group to orchestral and operatic productions with guest conductors. Its interpretative criteria, of historical nature, does not have an archaeological but an artistic purpose, because the closer one is to the author, the more vigour one can put into expressing the emotions and feelings he instills in us.
The La Spagna musicians, trained at the most prestigious schools in Europe and regular contributors to some of the most important orchestras, conductors and soloists on the international scene, are the reflection of a new generation of musicians who are committed not only to delivering a flawless performance but also to respecting the historical and social perspective of each repertory.
