Music in the Spanish manner
Dichos Diabolos owes its name to the “Baile de los dichos diabolos”, one of the Canzone, Sinfonie, Fantasie, Capricci… (1650) by Andrea Falconiero (Naples 1585/6 – 1656).
Dichos Diabolos is an ensemble with a fascination for reinventing and recovering known and forgotten Hispanic repertoire. It aims to inspire curiosity by experimenting with the possibilities of sound both in its historical and aesthetical condition.
Its shows display a high-quality, experimental and very personal approach, and they are characterized by a certain inclination towards unusual and extravagant thematics.
AWARDS
In 2016, Dichos Diabolos won the 1st prize at the Concours International de Cuivres Anciens in Toulouse.
In 2018 they were selected to participate in the IYAP (International Young Artists Presentation) in Antwerp and the Fringe edition of the Early Music Festivals in Bruges and Utrecht.
En 2019 they were chosen as beneficiaries of the EEEMERGING project (Emerging European Ensembles), which supports young ensembles within the framework of the Creative Europe program and with which they have carried out artistic residencies in Pavia (Italy), Torroella de Montgrí (Spain) and Göttingen (Germany).
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Currently they organize, together with the Conservatori Professional de Música de Badalona, the Early Music Course of Badalona (pedagogical coordination; Josep Borràs). Also, as an ensemble in residence at ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya), they regularly carry out pedagogical activities for the students of this center.
